I was born and raised in Fairmont, Minnesota, before heading off to college. I first attended Grand View College, where I played baseball and graduated with a political science degree. After college, I never really found my career until going back to school to get my teaching degree. I have spent the last 18 years teaching social studies and coaching baseball and football at St. James High School.

In 2022, I decided to run for St. James mayor, but not in the traditional way. I decided to run as a write-in candidate. I have been so honored and humbled by the massive support I received in that election and also as the Mayor of St. James.
